Delta Gear Case Study

The E2 Shop System helps drive efficiencies and growth at gear machine shop powerhouse

About Delta Gear

Delta Gear, formerly Tifco Gage & Gear, makes the finest gears in the world. We are an AS 9100 and ISO 9001 registered facility which allows our customers the peace of mind that their project is being managed with complete control. We manufacture precision gears, shafts, splines, carriers, housings, gages, master gears and other geared components and gearbox assemblies. E2 machine shop software was implemented using its primary modules only and this served the company well for five years. However, as the company grew and customer requirements increased, we recognized that our model needed adjustment. In mid-2009 we initiated an improvement project to move us to the next level of E2 and business system effectiveness.

By embracing the disciplines embedded in E2, we are steadily moving from a ‘reactive’ to a ‘pro-active’ planning approach for our entire enterprise.”
-Lee A. Lantz, Delta Gear, Inc.

Why did Delta Gear Choose E2?

E2 was implemented at Delta Gear in 2004 after the company was acquired and moved to our current location. In keeping with the company mission to strategically invest in the latest technologies, Delta Gear also upgraded the business system to an enterprise-wide solution that could centralize critical processes and provide real-time status, and still be relatively easy to use and maintain.

The Results… So Far

“With E2 job shop software we literally turned it on and begin entering jobs from the floor within hours of installation. The Customer Service and Technical Staff literally run rings around any service we’d ever received elsewhere,” said Kavanagh-Morris. “With E2 we feel we’ve entered a partnership, not just a purchase and that is so vital to our future growth,” added Morris. “We feel we haven’t even begun to really utilize so many things your program offers, but we are so excited about the future and what we will be able to do!”
