About SPSU Motorsports Formula SAE
Southern Polytechnic State University’s first Formula SAE team started in 1993 by a group of students who simply wanted to know how to engineer a race car. The first car utilized a donated 250cc-v-twin motor with limited electronics and scrap metal which was found at the school. Since then, the school has progressed through many generations of cars, each proving to be lighter, faster, and more technically advanced than its predecessor.
